The most vibrant Empire State girl in New York is moving to Jersey. The news of Alicia Keys’ move across the Hudson River into the suburbs of the Garden State has been confirmed by the announcement that the songstress, who was raised in Manhattan, is in negotiations to purchase the Englewood, New Jersey estate with her husband Swiss Beatz. The estate currently belongs to Hollywood legend Eddie Murphy, according to the New York Times.
The news comes less than 12 month after Keys and her husband put their fantastic SoHo triplex, worth a fabulous $17.95 million, on the market; they purchased this property from Lenny Kravitz.
Eddie Murphy and his now ex-wife brought up five children in the estate, which is a 13,000 square foot Georgian-style home featuring seven bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. The comic actor has been trying to sell the place for five years, since 2007.
Keys and her husband, on the other hand, appear to be very much on the lookout for a family-oriented spread for their new relocation, and it is doubtless the case that their toddler son will very much appreciate the home. It is packed with amenities left behind by Murphy, including an arcade room and bowling alley. The price is not too bad either, with Murphy having dropped it from his original asking price of $30 million down to around $12 million.
