Anyone who has experienced the delights of moving at any time in their lives will be able to tell you that it is all too easy to forget about and even lose things when in the process of relocating. There are any number of treasured possessions that could end up being left behind after the moving company has departed due to forgetfulness or some other error on the part of the owner.
To protect your belongings during any future move, there are few tips to make certain that nothing of any sentimental or monetary value is left behind. Moving is stressful enough at the best of times without adding regret into the mix.
The first tip is to make sure that you check your rooms one by one. Try to deal with everything one room at a time, as this semblance of order can actually do wonders for your nerves. In your living room, for instance, you can remove all of the wall hangings such as the family portraits, mirrors, nails and books. Keep the walls bare once you know that the move is definite. You should also make sure that any light fittings that are not part of the original home and that you want to add to your new house are taken down, in addition to window adornments such as supporting rods and curtains, and have them replaced with different ones.
When you reach your new house, do the reverse by again going through each room in turn and making sure that everything is in its proper place.
