When you hire a moving company you shouldn’t have to deal with service delays but sometimes they may occur. So, what do you do during this relocation upset? There are many different ways to deal with service delays during a move. Here are some scenarios you should keep in mind.
Pick Up and Delivery Dates
Before the relocation you should work with your mover to decide pick up and delivery dates for your belongings. Remember, it is up to you to determine the date, or span of dates, that you’ll need for pick up and delivery. Once you have set this date and the moving company agrees, it becomes the mover’s responsibility to make sure everything runs on time. There are two different types of dates when it comes to the moving industry – agreed dates and guaranteed. Do you know what the difference is?
Agreed Pick Up and Delivery Dates
Agreed pick up and delivery dates are those on which your moving company is required to conduct the pick up and delivery. The mover is actually required to conduct the pick up and delivery on the dates you have requested. The only thing that should change these dates are circumstances that could not be foreseen or are out of the control of the mover.
Guaranteed Pick Up and Delivery Dates
If you have a specific date that you must pack up your old house and move into the new house, you should opt for guaranteed pick up and delivery dates. When you choose this option, the movers are required to complete the move on those dates or provide compensation to you.
