Harris to move to New York

Neil Patrick Harris is to make a move to New York City.  The popular actor, who initially shot to fame as a teenager in the title role of Doogie Howser MD, is preparing for a full-time relocation to New York City for both himself and his family when filming wraps up on the last season of his current hit series How I Met Your Mother.

The actor currently resides in California with partner David Burtka and their two children; however, the couple is planning to up stakes and move to the East Coast of the United States once the hit sit-com reaches its conclusion in 2014.

Harris has acknowledged the fact that he would like to be able to live in a state that legally recognizes gay marriage and is hoping that they will be able to make the move very soon so that he will be able to have his children enrolled in a school in New York City.

How I Met Your Mother is wrapping up its last season next year, and we’re kind of at the end of a chapter in our lives,” Harris told Us Magazine while at an event in New York City.  “[The next chapter] will be in New York, so it’s fun to be here tonight.  We’re here in New York City and imagining the future, which won’t be too far away.”

Harris added that their plan is to reroute to New York and have their kids attend school there, and then hope to find work in the Big Apple.
