Sorry, Hollywood! The Big Apple is about to get actress, model, and television host Heidi Klum and her singer husband, Seal, as semi-permanent New York City residents. The couple, along with their four kids, will be moving from the Los Angeles area to New York City in the near future.
Last year, the family rented a townhouse in the West Village complete with a screening room and basketball court. How’s that for some prime NYC real estate? Since they were simply renting, they had to move out when the lease was up. However, they are looking for a more permanent residence since Klum’s work on “Project Runway” doesn’t seem like it’s slowing down anytime soon.
Post production on “Project Runway” is done in SoHo, so that’s where the couple is seeking to move. They plan to live in NYC for at least six weeks while the show shoots, though Klum may stay on for additional time since she is also one of the show’s producers.
Rumors on the real estate grapevine tell us that Heidi and Seal found three separate two-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouses that they were particularly fond of and offered $100,000 to rent all three for their brief move to NYC. The developer refused as they were looking for more long-term renters.
Though NYC would like to have the Seal-Klum partnership as the next big celebrity relocation, they will maintain their home north of Beverly Hills. They moved into it in 2005 and paid $7.6 million for it when they did.
