How to pack fragile items

There are a wide variety of reasons why you might need to pack and store fragile items such as fine china.  Perhaps you are making a long distance move, buying new dishes, or simply taking your fragile items somewhere for a party.  Whatever the reason, they need to be packed with a great deal of care. If you take the time to pack fragile items carefully, you will be reducing your future level of stress quite considerably.  One of the best methods to make sure of safe relocation is to use a safe container.

It is  recommended that you use a sturdy cardboard box to store fine china in.  Boxes come in many different varieties, and some are thicker and stronger than others. You should select a box or some other container that is able to withstand weight and offer the proper level of support to fragile items.  A number of boxes will even come with different compartments, and these are particularly ideal for the transport of expensive items.

If you are likely to need to move on a frequent basis then it is a good idea to make use of plastic or possibly even wooden crates. It is very important to purchase the right kind of packing materials.  There are a number of different kinds to choose from, and you can make use of items such as bubble wrap, newspaper, old clothes, foam peanuts, plastic shopping bags, and just about anything from inside your house that will provide a good cushion. Purchasing the proper packing material will be more costly than using what you already have, however you may save money if items are not broken by using inproper materials for packing.
