Jefferson National Financial is moving its headquarters to Louisville. The move will supply the city with 95 more jobs that will pay a minimum of $85,000 annually. The company has stated the annual income will increase by the end of next year if the move is successful.
The financial company has already opened services in Louisville and offers 55 residents jobs. They are part of the direct market and service investments. The company is similar to Charles Schwab in its financial offerings. Its offices are already located on Hurstbourne Parkway, close to Shelbyville and Westport Roads.
The relocation of the headquarters will be paid for in part by the $2 million in state tax incentives the company obtained. Relocation is possible for some of the employees in the current headquarters, but they must make a decision quickly. The jobs being offered are certainly better paying than the warehouse and manufacturing jobs Louisville is known for. It will also mean an increase in sales and technical positions in the city. Most companies do not leave New York, where the headquarters are based now, but the company stated that it is not traditional. It will do things that will benefit the company, employees, and the area. The move is one that makes sense and therefore it will be conducted in 2012. Caplan, owner of 90% of the business, announced the move in a press conference, making certain to emphasize that they are non-traditional.
