Just outside of Chicago you’ll find a city called Niles. Niles is a nice little Illinois town with a population of just over 29,000 with a family median income of about $74,000. So, if you are planning on moving to the area, it is a good place to consider moving with the kids.
What is so different about Niles, anyway? First of all, any city with its own half-size replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa has got to be charming – and that is exactly how you might describe Niles and its Leaning Tower of Niles. But that is not all that the Chicago suburb has to offer a family.
There are many advantages of moving to Niles. First of all, if you aren’t in the mood to waste time and fuel driving around town all day, you’ll be thankful to learn that Niles has a great public transit system which also includes free bus service within the village itself. Additionally, there are 20 different parks, shopping centers, and plenty of sights to see.
When you are moving with the kids, one thing you’ve got to keep in mind is the quality of the area schools. The availability of good schools can definitely affect your decision to relocate to a specific area. As you consider Niles, you’ll be relieved to hear that there are a number of both public and private schools that all perform above the state average.
