Are you thinking of moving to Texas but just aren’t sure where in the Lone Star State you want to relocate to? Well, Texas is full of some really great towns, but none are as infamous as Dallas. It is the namesake of an iconic television series from the 1980s, after all.
Dallas is one of the largest cities in the country, and the third largest in the state. It really does have a lot to offer anyone thinking of relocating. In fact, it is one of the more ethnically diverse cities in the United States. More than a million people live in Dallas and its surrounding areas, including the neighborhood of North Oak Cliff.
Until recently, North Oak Cliff was one of the shadier neighborhoods in the city, and we’re not talking about the tree-lined streets the area is also known for. After the end of World War II, many people moved out of the neighborhood and toward the suburbs. With that mass exodus came crime, poverty, and general degradation of the neighborhood.
The turn-of-the-century homes are the big attraction bringing people back into North Oak Cliff. Just a short bike ride (or long walk) from downtown Dallas, the neighborhood is filling up with young, hip professionals and families that are looking to move to a place with up-and-coming shops, eateries, bars, and culture.
