Preparing for an office move

Moving can be a hectic and stressful experience, even for someone who is moving into a new office by choice.   The size of the new office does not really make much of a difference, as the planning has to be done in the same manner regardless.

It is very important that such plans are drawn up well in advance of the actual relocation in order to prevent any later problems, and there are some good tips that could be of great benefit during your office move. One good tip is with regard to the furniture in your office.  Study the floor plan prior to your move so that you can get a good sense of your new location and what arrangements will need to made.  You should prepare a rough draft of the plan, outlining what you intend to do with the furniture and particularly with the desks.  One easy way is to put numbers on the desks and on the rooms in the brand new floor plan.  You will then need to decide on the identity of the employee who will sit at each desk, which is an important factor that needs to be decided early on to prevent any hassles in the future.

Employees can make the choice themselves, though it is usually better if management makes the decision. Another good tip is to make sure that you only hire an efficient and experienced moving company to ensure that everything is completed systematically.
