Reasons why people want to live in Chicago

Some people are unsure about living in a city such as Chicago. Perhaps they do not like the hustle and bustle of busy places, or perhaps they prefer to live somewhere a little warmer; however, there are a number of reasons why people do want to live in this city and why they choose to stay.

City life is so much easier when you do not have to think about driving, and in Chicago there is the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority). This means you do not have to own a car to get around the city and you can save money and stress thanks to the good transport links.

Believe it or not, there are many people who do not know that Chicago has a beach; it does, and when the sun shines it makes a great day out for all the family. The good news is that no matter where you are in the city you can reach the beach within about 20 minutes; therefore, there is no need to make plans for a long journey to make the most of the good weather.

The location of Chicago is another reason why people like to live here. The mid-west location puts you within a couple of hours of most other major cities in the US and you are also within driving distance of places such as Michigan and Milwaukee. Moving to Chicago does not mean that you have to be remote.

Younger people consider relocating to Chicago for the thriving nightlife, and once they have found it they do not want to move on again! Most major cities have a good nightlife and Chicago is no exception, with bars that are open until 4am and plenty of pubs and clubs to choose from. Many music acts play concerts here and if you love your music then Chicago will be able to offer you what you need. Chicago is also great if you like your sports.

One of the main considerations of a move to Chicago is affordability. It offers a vibrant city life without the hefty property price tags of New York or Los Angeles and the cost of living is lower here. The city is popular with college students because life here will not break the bank ‒ you get to enjoy student life without worrying too much about covering the bills.

The city has become very fashionable in recent years and features heavily in a number of TV shows, such as Chicago Fire. Some people even want to move here because they have seen it in a TV show!

All of this is in addition to the opportunities that exist in Chicago. There are many big businesses here and plenty of work opportunities. Many college students come here to study and end up staying because they have found work after graduation. Smaller towns and cities have fewer opportunities available; therefore, if you are looking for work, somewhere such as Chicago might hold the answers.
