Renting a truck or using a moving company

Renting a truck for your move may seem like the ideal thing to do.  You know that you can rent the truck and relocate your belongings with the help of family or friends, but there are some things you should consider first.  The following can be considered questions you should ask about the rental truck before you decide that this is the best option.

What size of truck do you need?  Usually the rental truck company will tell you the size of truck you need based on the number of rooms you have in your home.  If you have a three-bedroom house with living room, kitchen and den then you actually have six rooms to pack up and move; therefore, a larger truck is needed.  You also need to understand the basic fee for the moving truck and the gas mileage on top of it.  Most companies will have a rental fee and then charge you for the gas mileage.  It means if you end up going beyond the estimated gas mileage you may have to pay a little more.

With moving companies, the quote you receive for the move is usually what very close to what you will pay.  This also can change by the type of estimate given, location where you live and also the type of move you’re doing.  There are circumstances, such as extra weight in boxes or packing by the movers, which could change a moving quote.  If you use a moving company you are able to get your belongings moved without conducting the labor yourself.  No body likes a sore back or a sore wallet so choose your prosessional mover wisely and make sure to get more than one quote.
