Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is set to relocate from its location on the northeast side of Indianapolis and head for pastures new. The upscale steakhouse chain is making a move of around one mile to the south to become the anchor tenant in the new Ironworks, which is situated at the Keystone retail-apartment project scheduled to open in May 2014, according to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse local franchisee Hoosier Hospitality Group and developer Hendricks Commercial Properties. Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse will be occupying 16,500 square feet of space spread over two levels, and will be able to seat up to 470 people.
Last month the Ironworks at Keystone project was able to break ground at the southwest corner of East 86th Street and Keystone Avenue. Included in the project will be 40,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space, underground parking, and no fewer than 120 apartments. “We decided to relocate to Ironworks after months of careful consideration,” says the chief executive officer of Hoosier Hospitality Group, Larry Griggers. He adds that the group felt very strongly that the new Ironworks would be the perfect location in which to better serve its loyal customer base, while at the same time enabling it to simultaneously attract new clientele.
Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse will be making the move from its current location at 9445 Threel Road, which is situated near Keystone and East 86th Street.
