Save time and money with storage tips

There are a number of tips that can prove to be very helpful for people who are set to rent out a storage facility, particularly if they are doing so for the first time.  One of the first things you should do is to perform an inspection of your storage facility and then make a list of all the packing accessories you think you are going to need. Packing aids that are commonly used include such items as bubble wrap, rope, polyurethane sheeting, pallets and cartons, wrapping paper, tape, drop cloths, furniture and mattress covers, and skids.  All the available space should be made use of, including the height of the storage facility.  Items such as tables and bed frames should be disassembled before being stored. Items that are likely to be used on a fairly regular basis should be placed close to the entrance of the storage facility.  Containers should be filled to capacity, as it is important to keep in mind that cartons which are bulging or are only half full may collapse or tip.  Heavier items such as tools or books should be packed into smaller boxes, as if a carton ends up being too heavy it makes it extremely difficult to move. Items that are fragile in nature should be stored with padding as a form of cushioning and then placed near the top of the storage facility.  Cartons should be labeled and a list made of the contents, which should be taken home for easy reference later on.
