A fresh wave of restaurants is to move into Columbus over the course of the next few months. Many of these restaurants are chains that are completely new to the city, alongside one or two independents. The line-up of lip-smacking new offerings preparing to move into the area includes Panda Express, Cheeseburger Bobby’s, Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint, Yogli Mogli, La Madeleine, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Huey Luey’s, Newk’s Cafe and Erbert & Gerbert’s.
These are not the only restaurants intending to make a move into the neighborhood, however, with eateries hoping to add further locations including the likes of Chili Thai, Chicken Salad Chick, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Sugga’s, together with another Subway, McDonald’s and Hardee’s, in a growing part of Columbus.
Ground has also just been broken on a strip center featuring 9,800 square feet of space by Adams Brokerage Co. The strip center is located near to the Arby’s outlet at Whittlesey Boulevard, Columbus Park Crossing, with the space being anchored by Panda Express and Chipotle Mexican Grill. There could be a total of six tenants set to move there when it finally opens in the fall, according to the Columbus company senior vice-president and broker Wes Lewis.
“The fact that they want to be in Columbus speaks volumes because we’re technically number three in the state behind Augusta and Atlanta,” says Lewis. “So we’re beginning to be on the radar finally from some of these national restaurants and tenants who aren’t even in the market.”
