In order to both organize and complete a successful military move, you will need to prepare very carefully. If you are an active member of the service then part of this preparation will be to make a decision as to whether you want your move to be taken care of by the government or if you would rather do it by yourself.
Assuming that you have chosen the second option, you will need to make out an inventory sheet as well as draw up a careful and detailed plan of your relocation. There are a number of things that you should include on your military move checklist.
Moving when in the military is fraught with activity; however, if you begin at an early enough point some weeks or even some months before you actually move, if possible, organizing a successful relocation will not be all that difficult.
The first thing you need to do is decide precisely what you intend to move. Go through your possessions and choose what to do with the things that you would rather not take with you, such as donating them to charity or organizing a moving sale.
Another good tip is to clean the rugs and the curtains in your home. Once you have cleaned them, wrap them and leave them like that until you move. Some of the blankets could be used to help to protect your furniture during transportation.
