The origins of Wear Something Gaudy Day can be traced back to Three’s Company, the hit television comedy series of the 1970s, where one of the characters in the show, Larry Dallas – played by actor Richard Kline – declared a Wear Something Gaudy Day. The rest, as they say, is history.
