Stressful and overwhelming are just two of the words that can be used to describe the experience of having to pack up all of your possessions in order to move house. Happily for you, there are some tips that can get you through this relocation ordeal; while some might sound obvious, you would be surprised how often they are overlooked and how helpful they can really be when in the midst of all the craziness.
The first step is to make sure that you have all of the items you need to pack successfully, such as cardboard boxes or packing crates, bubble wrap, packing tape, tape measure, marker pen, newspaper or tissue paper or paper in general, and scissors.
It is important to make sure that you try to get your hands on the highest quality boxes that you are able to afford. Boxes that are made of corrugated cardboard are highly recommended, as they are a lot stronger and thus considerably more durable than some and will therefore be able to offer your possessions much better protection during the relocation process. Strong, wide packing tape should be used to make boxes secure, as it works a lot better than ordinary sellotape.
Boxes that are particularly big should be used to pack light and large items such as towels and bed linen. Big boxes are also perfect for more general household items such as kitchenware. Packing paper and bubble wrap should be used with strangely-shaped or sharp items to stop them from moving around during transportation.
