A restaurant in downtown Syracuse is hoping that the move that it is about to embark upon will be the right one for its business. The Mediterranean restaurant known as The Black Olive, which is situated on Armory Square, announced at the weekend that it will be closing for a few days soon while it undergoes a move to a new location.
The relocation will see the restaurant start to offer lunch and dinner service in what was formerly the location of the Pascale Wine Bar & Restaurant at West Fayette and South Clinton streets, the entrance to which is in the Pioneer Cos building at 204 West Fayette Street. The location has been vacant for three years; Pascale relocated to Limestone Plaza in Fayetteville in 2010.
Scott Chambers manages the restaurant, which is owned by Basillios Koumanidis. The move will enable The Black Olive to provide a dining area that is over three times as large as its existing venue, as well as expanded catering services and a room for private events.
After the move has been completed, the opening hours for The Black Olive restaurant are expected to remain unchanged from their current timetable. The Black Olive will therefore continue to be open for business until 10pm from Monday to Thursday, and until 2am on Friday and Saturday. The restaurant will continue to be closed for business all day Sunday and the phone number is also expected to remain the same.
