Do you spend your mornings looking into the windows of Tiffany’s? Do you have a tired tiara? If so, you might want to move right into Holly Golightly’s apartment from the famous film Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The apartment used in the movie is now up for sale. It was previously under the thumb of a Merill Lynch broker, who was let go for inside trading, but is now on the market. The pad was made famous by being featured as Audrey Hepburn’s apartment in the film adaptation of Truman Capote’s novel. That broker was forced to move and therefore the apartment is up for grabs.
Are you ready to move in? The listing price is almost $6 million for the 15-foot wide townhouse. The apartment, located in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, served as the backdrop for the film’s exterior shots. However, the interior we know and love so well was all shot on a soundstage.
The New York hideaway is actually a landmark of sorts – movie buffs will recognize it in a second, as it hasn’t changed so much since the film was shot. But, if you are hoping to move in with a quirky Asian landlord and a nameless cat, you might have to look elsewhere – those things are just not included!
Let us know if you would ever want to move into a movie landmark. We’d love to hear what you have to say!
