How to move a kitchen

It is never an easy task to get a kitchen ready for a move – if you lack the correct tools and materials you will end up losing precious time, and the last thing you need during a move is to get flustered.  The good news is that there are a number of helpful tips that can assist you in packing up a kitchen easily and efficiently.

The first step you should take when getting ready to pack up a kitchen ready for relocation is to choose the items that you actually want to take with you to your new home.  Get rid of any items that are broken or no longer used.  Be sure that every drawer in the kitchen has been checked, as objects left inside could get damaged or broken during the move.

One good tip is to prepare a box filled with items that are essential for the first few days in your new home after the move, such as cutlery, glasses, some appliances, pans, dishes, plates and dishtowels.    It is also advisable to make a list of the items you will need and put these in the essentials box so that you can keep track of everything.

You will also need to create a list of the packing materials you are going to need.  Boxes of various sizes will be required, and you should select durable, sturdy boxes that do not appear to be overused or damaged in any way.  If you still have the original boxes for appliances, it would be best to re-use these.
