How to plan a move

Change is practically the only constant in our lives these days, and when change takes place Americans are certainly not afraid to pack up their prized possessions and find a new home.  Whatever the motivation behind relocation, be it a growing family, a new job or transfer or making a move to a better or less expensive home, it can be tough to orchestrate the relocation of all your possessions from one place to another; therefore, it is a good idea to have a solid plan in place ahead of time and there are a number of things that need to be included in your moving strategy.

After the move has been completed and you have unpacked the final box in your new home, it is a good idea to celebrate the moment.  Have a nice meal, or a drink, or just collapse on the sofa for a while.  The very last thing you should do at this juncture is try to find yet another tedious task that needs attending to, so make sure that tasks such as change of address notifications have all been completed before moving day.

It is always easier to remember things that are written down.  A list helps you to organize your thoughts and gives you the chance to tick things off when they are accomplished, which is often very satisfying when making a move.

The inclusion of deadlines in such a list is vital, as some things will need to be done before others and need to be prioritized accordingly.
