Hurricane Sandy caused damage to Meryl Streep’s apartment

The New York City apartment building in which Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep resides apparently sustained a tremendous amount of damage in Hurricane Sandy, which proved to be catastrophic for much of the United States.  The multi award-winning actress has been unable to move back to the $10 million Tribeca penthouse as a result of the storm damage and is now looking for a new temporary place for relocation, according to the New York Daily News.

The star of Iron Lady has apparently been told that it will be a minimum of four months, if not longer, before she is able to return to the apartment, an insider claims.  The Tribeca building where Streep lives is also the exact same place where a parking garage attendant was killed during the course of Hurricane Sandy after he refused to listen to calls for him to abandon his post and flee to safety.  A total of more than 100 people were killed because of the storm, with heavy damage also being sustained on the East Coast of the United States.

A special benefit show, which has been given the name of The Concert for Sandy Relief, has been arranged for Madison Square Garden and is to be held on 12th December.  Acts set to headline the benefit show for victims of the hurricane include Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Alicia Keys and ‘The Boss’ himself, Bruce Springsteen.
