Alicia Keys has been forced into dropping the asking price for her home. The singer, who is the wife of music producer Swizz Beatz, with whom she has a two-year-old son named Egypt, is apparently keen to sell and move on from her penthouse in New York City. The penthouse has been up for sale for nearly a year, since March 2012, and the “Girls on Fire” singer has now made the decision to drop the asking price by $2.95 million.
The singer bought the plush apartment three years ago, back in 2010, from Lenny Kravitz for $12.5 million. It is now on the market for $15 million instead of the original asking price of $17.95 million. The busy 31-year-old songstress has been very keen to sell the property since her family relocation to the sprawling new home she purchased from actor Eddie Murphy in October for $12 million. The couple apparently secured the estate, which features a recording studio and 32 rooms, for less than half the original asking price.
Lenny Kravitz completely renovated the couple’s old apartment after he purchased it 13 years ago, back in 2000, with it apparently boasting floor to ceiling windows, a stunning rooftop lounge that offers panoramic views of the city, and multiple staircases.
Keys has admitted that she has become a much happier individual since she met her husband.
