Military relocation advice

Moving in the military entails not just a great deal of planning but also much in the way of paperwork, as military approval is necessary for a wide range of things ranging from having your car shipped, to making an appointment, to gaining access to your medical records. All military spouses are aware of the reality that the relocation process will either be made or broken by planning as early as they possibly can.  As so much of the experience will be out of their control, the best method to make certain that the move will be a success is to get organized.

One of the very best pieces of advice with regard to making a move in the military is to sit down and make a list.  It is only too easy to end up becoming overwhelmed by the sheer number of steps that are involved in the relocation process, whether the move is within the same base or to the other side of the country.

The first time that any particular details springs into your mind you should be certain to put it down on your list and then cross it off the moment it has been completed. It is also a very good idea to do a bit of research on the area that you will be moving to.  A great tool for being able to find your new home and check up on what else is located nearby is Google Maps.
