Though the 2012 Presidential Election is a way off, we can’t help but to keep an eye on those Republicans that might be giving President Obama a run for his money. Mitt Romney, who attempted to get the Republican nomination back in 2008, is moving in the same direction again.
But, we’re not here to talk about politics. Recent reports have come out that indicate that Romney is hoping to expand his $12 million California home. In fact, he put in an application to quadruple the size of his compound in La Jolla. Looks like he doesn’t want to move his vacation spot away from the area.
There is a catch, though (isn’t there always?) Romney wants to bulldoze the 3,000 square-foot house on the property and replace it with a mansion approximately 11,000 square-feet in size. Though there are no plans for the GOP candidate to move to California permanently, it is a lovely vacation spot.
Perhaps they want to make the house even bigger since Romney has five grown sons, all married, and sixteen grandkids. Makes sense!
In addition to the beachfront property in La Jolla, Romney has a townhouse just outside of Boston, which is his primary residence. He doesn’t plan on moving from there anytime soon. Additionally, he has a $10 million vacation house in New Hampshire on Lake Winnipesaukee.
