One of the most anticipated action movies of 2015 is the fifth film in the Terminator series, Terminator: Genesis. The new film ‒ a continuation of the series that began 30 years ago back in 1984 ‒ again stars Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Schwarzenegger remains the lead actor in the new movie, though he will be surrounded by a cast of fresh actors, none of whom have appeared in the franchise before. As it is over a decade since Schwarzenegger last played the cyborg assassin in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (Terminator: Salvation, starring Christian Bale, having gone ahead without Schwarzenegger while he was governor of California), the version of the T-800 model Terminator he will play in the new film will have aged due to the fact that it has real human skin.
Shooting on Terminator 5 has very nearly finished, with Schwarzenegger having almost completed his own filming. Joining him in the new film are fitness trainer Aaron V Williamson, who plays the younger T-800 Terminator, and Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke, who will be playing Sarah Connor, the character played by Linda Hamilton in the first two films.
Douglas Smith is taking on the role of the young John Connor, previously played by Christian Bale, Edward Furlong and Nick Stahl. The film is directed by Alan Taylor and is expected to be released on 1st July 2015 in the US.
