As with moving into any new home, moving into a mobile home brings with it its own set of challenges. The move can be a difficult one if you are making the relocation to this small manufactured home from a much larger house, and making sure that you plan everything out well in advance is a good way to ensure that you are organized for what is always a chaotic and stressful time.
One basic tip to set things on the right track early on involves understanding the nature of downsizing. Space is always a big issue when you move from a normal sized home into a mobile home and you will need to try to rid yourself of as much unnecessary furniture and possessions as you can before you go.
It can be expensive to pay storage fees on a monthly basis for big items, so simply getting rid of these items is usually the best way to go. You can start the process of downsizing by going through closets, storage rooms, drawers and the garage, and disposing of items that are no longer necessary. If you are uncertain as to whether you should keep any item, you should think about when the last time was that you used it, how often you make use of it, if it is still in good condition, and whether it is really necessary in your life. A yard sale can be a good way to get rid of junk and help finance your relocation.
