If you are planning a relocation to Minnesota, get ready for some really cold weather! Minnesota can get to sub-zero temperatures in a matter of no time – way before many other states in our great nation. However, if you can handle the cold, Minnesota has some really great cities if you want to move with the whole family.
One of the best places to raise your kids, according to Business Week Magazine, is Cokato, Minnesota. The small town has a population of just over 2,800 and the median family income is just above $66,470. It’s a modest town to say the least, but it is one you won’t regret moving to.
Cokato is just over an hour from Minneapolis, so it is not unheard of for families to move to the area and make the commute into the city for work. However, Dassel is another nearby town, and is also a great place to raise the kids. It shares many of its amenities with Cokato and so it is not necessary to drive into Minneapolis just for staples.
Residents of Cokato enjoy a library, country club, and an award-winning school system, which means it is a step ahead of other small towns in the area. In addition Cokato, along with Dassel, has a performing arts center, museum and photography studio. The photography studio was built back in 1905 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
