Perhaps not all New York is in bloom; however, if you like all things floral, there is an event in the city that you should not miss. Macy’s is holding a two-week event during which the store will be transformed. The theme this year is Art in Bloom and the ground level of the store will look completely different once the floral artists have completed their work.
The event, which takes place from March 22nd to April 4th, includes a variety of workshops, entertainments and demonstrations; therefore, you don’t have to go along just to have a look but can actively participate and learn new skills. The event is free and you can check out Macy’s website for details about the workshops, which are also free. Examples of the workshops include learning how to make a terrarium and having a go at your own floral designs. Special guests at this year’s event include Martha Stewart.
As there is something happening every day, it is definitely worth going along to Macy’s Herald Square. Most of the workshops and demonstrations are held on a first come, first served basis;therefore, it is worth getting there early to be sure of a seat.
New York is not the only Macy’s store taking part, and those who are lucky enough to reside in cities such as San Francisco, Chicago and Philadelphia will also be able to visit a Macy’s Art in Bloom event. The workshops and demonstrations vary at each store, so make sure that you find out in advance what is happening near you.
