Packing Your Bedroom

Packing Your Bedroom

We know that no one really enjoys moving. It’s stressful and time-consuming. And, moving can get even worse if you’re not prepared or organized for it. The bedroom can be one of the most overwhelming rooms to pack up and move. Why? It’s your daily retreat and some people just don’t know where to start. Here are some suggestions to help you make it through.

Clothing

Don’t pack any of the clothing you might need to take with you during the travels between your old and new homes, so set them aside. But, you can put them in a separate suitcase so that you can pack up the rest of your room. Wardrobe boxes can prevent delicate clothing from wrinkling during relocation. You can also easily transfer clothing from dresser drawers into paper-lined boxes.

Shoes

Most of us throw away our shoeboxes when we bring home our new shoes, so you’ll probably have to wrap each pair in plain newsprint or packing paper and place them gently into a larger box. Remember not to pack anything heavy on top of the shoes. If you need to top off the box when you move, consider towels, pillows, or blankets.

Bedding and Linens

You don’t need extra boxes for your bedding and linens when you move. You just need a large, clear plastic garbage bag. This way, you’ll be able to easily identify your linens when you get to the new house. You can do this with blankets, towels, and other soft items such as pillows.
