Planning tips for your new office space

It could be that you want new furniture for your new office when you relocate. This is often a good idea if you are moving offices because your company is expanding and you want to make a good impression on clients. It is also a good idea if your existing furniture has been in use for a number of years – sometimes furniture can become worn and there are some items that never look the same after they have been dismantled and reassembled.

If you need new furniture, you need to consider who your supplier is going to be as far in advance of your office relocation. Some specialist office furniture manufacturers have a lead-time of several weeks and this could be a problem if you do not give enough notice. There is no point moving old furniture from one place to another only to have to throw it away a month or two later. Find out when your new furniture can be delivered and assembled, and if possible arrange for this to be completed at the new offices the day before the official move. In this way you can simply move everyone in and their desks will already be there.

If space is at a premium in your new building, opt for rectangular desks. These work well together; however, if there is plenty of space, desks designed with a curve look very elegant. A lack of floor space can also be a problem if you need storage; however, you can consider taller cabinets to make the most of the wall space.
