Roosevelt Row Definitely Not Skid Row

Roosevelt Row Definitely Not Skid Row

Moving to Phoenix anytime soon?  Well, if you are, you may want to consider Roosevelt Row for your next home base.  The neighborhood in one of Arizona’s most affluent cities, Phoenix, has definitely had its share of highs and lows.  In fact, it has had some pretty low lows, which made many people actually relocate away.

If you know anything about Roosevelt Row, you know that about 15 years ago, the neighborhood consisted of a cluster of old, run-down bungalows that dated to before World War II.  The neighborhood quickly became one of the most coveted places in downtown Phoenix; attracting many artists and young families that quickly moved in hoping to find an inexpensive place to live and work.

Why did so many artists decide to move into Roosevelt Row?  The area, once blighted by poverty, became very attractive to artists because the abandoned buildings became available at very affordable prices.  Many of the buildings double as living spaces and studio or gallery spaces.

Over the last decade or so, many people have decided to move to Phoenix.  In fact, many are flocking to Roosevelt Row since the neighborhood is becoming so revitalized.  The laid-back vibe and overall artsy feel of the area has also attracted an eclectic mix of restaurants, galleries, and cafes.  The revitalization allowed many businesses to move right in.

So, if you are looking for an artsy, trendy neighborhood in the Phoenix area, Roosevelt Row is for you.  Go ahead and move right in.
