As simple as moving a desk might appear to be at first glance, you need to be attentive at all times during the relocation. The great majority of desks come with surfaces that are quite fragile and thus will need to be protected in order to ensure that they do not get scratched. Sometimes desks and tables can also feature glass panels that will need additional care, as they can be very easily broken. These factors need to be taken into consideration to make sure that your furniture is not destroyed or damaged while being moved.
The first thing you should do is to check the dimensions of the table to see whether it will easily pass through doors and hallways. If it will, all you need to concern yourself with is providing padding sufficient to avoid scratches. Tape and moving blankets can be used to cover the panel on the table to begin with, and then each leg should be wrapped. If the table’s dimensions are such that it will not be able to go through doors and hallways, you should – if you can – disassemble the legs with the use of a drill. If the table cannot be disassembled then you will have to pass it through the door on its side, slowly and with the front legs first.
