The life of 33-year-old actress and model Liberty Ross has been turned upside down by the revelation of her director husband Rupert Sanders’ affair with his Snow White and the Huntsman leading lady Kristen Stewart. Before the move to Hollywood, Ross, Sanders and their two small children – seven-year-old Skyla and five-year-old Tennyson – lived in England, where Sanders directed commercials and Ross worked as a model.
Thanks to their relocation to Los Angeles, Sanders became a feature film director. “I romanticized domesticity for a while, and loved having a shopping list of groceries stuck to the fridge for the first time,” Ross noted in an interview with YOU magazine, “but moving here and starting a life all over again was a lot harder than I had anticipated. I just didn’t think it would be as isolating and daunting as it turned out to be.”
It was not just Sanders who betrayed Ross; it was Stewart as well. Ross believed Stewart had become a good friend during the filming of Snow White and the Huntsman, with Ross even encouraging her husband to cast the young actress in the lead role.
Prior to the revelation of her husband’s affair, Ross said that despite the difficulties with the relocation to Los Angeles, it was worth it. “We rode through the tough times and we stuck it out,” she said. These are sentiments that now seem cruelly ironic in the wake of the cheating scandal.
