A lot of people have asked us to help them with information regarding the moving of an office. Moving an office is a pretty massive thing to have to do, and will usually require more than just one person to organize and help with it. This will include other colleagues and probably a professional moving company .
We have been responsible for helping to move a couple of offices over the years and one thing that we have always found is that the key to a truly successful relocation is to create a number of alliances that will be able to assist you with both the coordination and the motivation of your fellow staff members.
I’ll begin with just a few basic steps in order to help to get you started with your office move. The first thing I would suggest that you do is to create a timeline that deals with all of the required steps in the moving process. Of course, you will have to talk this over with either the rest of the moving team that you have assembled or at the very least with your supervisor or manager in order to make sure that it is a feasible plan. Three months preparation is needed even for a small office move, and a medium or large office will almost certainly need at least six months, if not eight months in total, in order to make certain that the office move is a successful one.
