Moving to Jacksonville?

Commonly referred to as “Jax”, Jacksonville, Florida is somewhere that you may not have considered for your relocation; however, there are plenty of reasons why people choose to make their home here.

The Florida weather is a big bonus when making the move to Jacksonville. The winters here are very mild and are ideal for those who want to get away from cold, wet weather. There hasn’t been any real snow in Jacksonville for more than 25 years!

The beach is always a plus point for those who want to relocate to Jacksonville and here you are never far away.  Jacksonville Beach is a very quaint town about 15 miles south of downtown Jax. Even in heavy traffic you can be there in less than half an hour.  Be sure to visit the only Salt Life retail store in in America in Jax Beach.

Families moving to this area of Florida love the urban parks. There are more than 80,000 acres of parkland here and it is very easy to find a quiet corner in which to relax. Hemming Plaza was the first park in the city.

Sports fans also find that the city has plenty to offer with a local professional football team and “The Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” which refers to the annual University of Georgia versus University of Florida football game (actually the tailgating before the game).   There is plenty of fishing, water skiing and boating are all options on the St John’s river, and there are also plenty of golf courses.  The TPC course at Sawgrass is just a short drive from Jacksonville.

Finally there is the low cost of living, which is lower than the national average and also lower than the average for Florida. This makes Jacksonville a very affordable destination that is ideal if you want to make sure that your bank balance looks a little healthier at the end of the month.  From Avondale to San Marco to Fernandina Beach, there are lots of great places to live and love  being around Jacksonville.
