Amanda Bynes facing hit-and-run charges

It has been revealed that the actress Amanda Bynes, who is best known for her role in What I Like About You, will face charges for hit-and-run offences after she was charged with two misdemeanors, according to information provided by the Los Angeles city attorney’s office.

The star, who is 26, was allegedly involved in two separate incidents on April 10th 2012 and August 4th 2012, although the charges come after the actress was arrested on August 6th when she was suspected of driving under the influence and it was reported that her vehicle allegedly struck a police officer’s car.

Also known for her role in Easy A, Bynes faces a six month jail sentence and/or a fine of $1,000 for each count should she be found guilty, according to city attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan after the charges were filed on Tuesday.

Although they were asked for a comment by CNN, Bynes’ representatives failed to provide one. It should be noted that, at this time, Bynes has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Bynes first came to the notice of the public when she starred in Big Fat Liar, which enjoyed modest success at the box office. She had taken part in many stage productions prior to this, including Annie, The Music Man, and The Secret Garden.  She is best known for playing the role of Marianne Bryant in the film Easy A, which was released in 2010.
