We are freshly into the fall, yet Christmas products are in the store windows. This must mean it is the perfect time to discuss moving around the holiday season. If this is something you are planning on, read on.
Moving is a stressful time and doing it during the holiday season can make it that much harder. This is especially true if you have a family and children. You do not want to compromise anyone’s enjoyment of the holidays just because you are moving, do you?
Do you have to move?
First of all, ask yourself if you really need to move during the holidays? Maybe your relocation can be pushed up a week or two, or maybe move after the first of the year. If you do not have to move during the holidays, it might be best to wait.
Plan ahead or you will be sorry!
If you absolutely must move during the holiday season, make sure you have a plan. The more planning you do, the smoother the entire relocation process will be. Never wait until the last minute to book the moving company or travel – you may get a rude awakening when they are fully booked or the prices have gone up significantly.
Think about the holidays.
As you make your moving plans, think about the holiday itself. If you are moving during that time, how will you spend the holiday? Will you be able to cook or visit friends and family? Keep in mind that you should plan for both the holiday and the move when moving during this busy time of year.
