So, you’ve decided to move overseas and hire a mail forwarding service. How do you go about it? There are so many different mail forwarding services that it can be hard to choose, especially if you don’t know where to start.
What Do You Need?
It is a good idea to understand what you’ll need once you move. Are you relocating permanently or will you be back to the United States in a few months? Here are the main questions you should ask yourself:
- Do you want your mail sent monthly, bimonthly, as it is received, or when you ask for it?
- Do you want or need constant access to your mail forwarding account?
- Will you need packages shipped to you?
- What is your budget?
Once you know what you are likely to need from the mail forwarding service when you relocate, it is time to choose. At the very least, you can hire a mail forwarding service that can collect all of your mail and packages and send it to you once a month. For an additional fee, most companies will dump catalogs, direct mail and other specified items so as to not bog you down.
The more expensive mail forwarding companies may also offer other services you might find useful after you move. For example, do you want your telephone calls forwarded to you while you are overseas? Would you need a personal shopper? The possibilities are endless; it just really depends on what you need and what your budget is.
