If you are moving to Connecticut, you may want to check out Oldfield Farm. When you hear the name, you might be thinking of a charming yet rustic little farmhouse with a barn and hayloft. Well, Oldfield Farm is not anything like you would expect.
Oldfield Farm is a Palladian-style mansion and is on the market for almost $40 million, nestled in Greenwich, Connecticut. It is not a farmhouse that you would ever imagine. It has eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms (yes, 12!), and sprawls across 15,000 square feet. On top of all that space the house has a theatre, a billiard room, wine cellar, six powder rooms, a sunroom, seven fireplaces, a workout room and, of course, a sauna. So, are you ready to move in?
The house, which is more of an estate, was designed by renowned architect Robert Lamb Hart and was subsequently decorated by Mark Hampton.
But, if you are interested in a more traditional home, Oldfield Farm does have some of those familiar rural aspects you might expect. There are twin stables that are equipped for up to 39 horses, so if you love horses, get ready to move in! There are also generous paddocks, meadows, a greenhouse and a polo field.
Oh, and did we forget to mention the gazebo, heated swimming pool, and the tennis courts? So, why rough it in a traditional farmhouse when you can move into all this?
