Frankenstein Day is a day that can cause no small amount of confusion to people due to the fact that there are actually three different versions of the day. There is Frankenstein Day, Frankenstein Friday and National Frankenstein Day. Why this has become so confused is a story in itself.
Frankenstein Day definitely takes place on 30th August every year. This particular day was created in order to honor the memory of Mary Shelley, the woman who created Frankenstein, who was born on 30th August 1797. Shelley wrote her famous novel Frankenstein when she was just 21 years old, in the year 1818.
Frankenstein Friday, on the other hand, is celebrated on the last Friday in the month of October every year. The creator of this special day is Ron MacCloskey, who every year awards The Franky to the person who has made the most significant contribution to the promotion of the Frankenstein legend that year.
National Frankenstein Day takes place on 29th October every year, at least according to Google, although there is little evidence to suggest that it is actually a real National Day, and there are even a number of sources that suggest that this day has become confused with Frankenstein Friday. Of course, anyone who is still confused by the number of Frankenstein Days can simply make certain that they celebrate all three days by seeing a Frankenstein movie or reading a novel.
