Hermit Day

Hermit Day

Hermit Day takes place each year on 29th October.  Hermit Day is intended to be a quiet day on which people can spend some time in seclusion all on their own.

For a number of people, being a recluse is actually a way of life and they spend all day every day in peaceful seclusion, all by themselves.  Whatever their reasons may be, hermits prefer to live away from large crowds and the sea of humanity.  These days the great majority of people find themselves living a lifestyle that seems to be more and more busy all the time – so much so that the prospect of becoming a hermit for the day could be a very tempting notion indeed! The idea of being able to get away from it all, even if it is ultimately for no more than just the one day, can be a very appealing one.

On the other hand, if you are already a hermit then Hermit Day is the day to celebrate your chosen lifestyle.  If you are not a hermit but just one of the many people who wish they could take a break from their stressful lifestyle, take advantage of Hermit Day to snatch a little time for yourself for a change and go and relax somewhere where no one will think to look for you.

Choose a secluded environment or area, take a good book, and have a happy, quiet and peaceful Hermit Day!
