Office moves may require sales

If you are about to undergo an office move, it might be in your best interest to consider selling off some of the items you know you will leave behind.  Rather than leaving these items in the office or just throwing them out, you could set up a community sale to sell off your office furniture.  You do not have to keep the proceeds from the sale.  Instead, you could donate what you make from the sales to a charity.  In either situation, whether keeping the profits or donating items, you will be able to get a valuable reward that may help you on your taxes.  Charity is one of the best options for getting rid of office furniture you do not want.

You do not even have to have a sale.  If you know a place that could use your old furniture you could certainly turn it over to them.  In this way you do not have to worry about throwing items away in the garbage that are still usable for someone, but not worth moving to your new office.  With your office move, you might want to have a moving company help you.  If you decide to use a moving company, make certain that they are aware of what is not to be moved.  After that just call up the charity you wish to help or the person that can help you to donate the items.  They can take care of the transportation of what you leave behind.
