Organizing an office relocation

Moving a business is something that might be even more difficult and stressful than moving a home and family, as there may be elements in a corporate move that you simply do not have any kind of control over whatsoever.

The company will provide you with a specific guide, which you must stick to entirely.  You should ideally give yourself a minimum of three months in which to prepare for an office move.  Stress and headaches are often caused by unfamiliarity, which is one of the reasons why it is so vital that you stick closely to the office moving guide that you have been provided with.

The most crucial aspect of office relocation is to make sure that everything has been planned out well ahead of time.  One thing to make sure of in regards to the new office building that you are moving to is that you are able to access floors that are above ground level.  Examine the building beforehand and make certain that you will be able to access elevators, that they are in working order, and that they are of sufficient size to be able to move the furniture.  Should this not be the case, you will need to inform the moving company prior to moving day.

Make certain that you know what you are doing before you move any technological machines.  A lot of machines need to be handled in a certain way.  If any of your equipment is rented, you should inform the rental company of your relocation ahead of time.
