Simple tips for storing items

If you are putting items into storage then there are a few simple tips that can be followed quite easily in order to make sure that you make the most of the facility that you hire and protect the possessions that you are placing within it.

One good tip is to make sure that heavy and big items are put in the back of the storage facility.  It is also a good idea to make sure that items you do not use very often are stored in the back as well, meaning that the items you may have a greater need to use more often can be placed in the front for easier access.  You should also make the most of the height of the storage facility by storing items such as mattresses and beds standing on their end.

Another recommendation is to make sure that you slightly wedge the doors of appliances open in order to stop a build-up of bad smells and mold.  Leaving a small space between your goods and the walls of the storage facility is something else that is strongly recommended, while other, smaller items might even be able to be stored inside larger appliances.

Two things that you should make absolutely certain of is that upholstery does not come into direct contact with the floor and that heavier goods are not stored on top of items that are lighter in weight.
