Telecommunications firm US Solutions is to combine its offices in downtown Bristol, VA and Abingdon into just the one site located at the former Touchstone Wireless building in Bristol, Tennessee. The company will also be adding 200 jobs to its existing workforce of 318 by the close of 2012, company officials announced at the end of last week.
“We’re excited to be here and to be part of the growth,” the vice-president for operations for US Solutions, Sharon Bricker, said during a news conference held at the vacant Touchstone site, which is located on West Side Street.
Bricker says that as many as 156 workers from the Abingdon office and 162 employees currently in Bristol, VA will gradually begin to make the move into the brand new site, which has been standing vacant for almost a year now, adding that the new call center is expected to be fully operational by no later than the end of October. “We think this location will be a wonderful one for our employees,” Bricker adds.
Officials are expecting that the company will make up to $4.1 million from its investment in and relocation to the new site, with Bricker noting that the Touchstone Wireless building “perfectly met” the company’s desire for a bigger site that would be able to meet the needs for future expansion, having more than 100,000 square feet of office space on offer. “This is a wonderful building,” she concluded.
