Branches around the country join efforts to collect food for those in need
Warrenville, IL – BMS Moving & Storage A-1 Movers, Inc. and BMS Moving & Storage, Inc., collectively my BMS Moving & Storage, is proud to announce the participation in Move For Hunger. Move For Hunger is the only international network of relocation companies dedicated to reducing hunger through food collection and distribution efforts.
My BMS Moving & Storage has committed to support those hungry individuals and families of the 17 local communities and surrounding areas they serve by collecting non-perishable food items from their customers on moving day. According to Move For Hunger, when people move, they often throw out a good deal of useful items. Unfortunately, many of those items are food that could be delivered to a family in need rather than just left behind. Lance Grooms, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at my BMS Moving & Storage said, “We’re excited to be able to make such a positive impact in the communities we serve, as a result of our everyday business activities. With a bit of additional effort and commitment, the result will be far less individuals and families who are hungry and we’re very thankful for such a great opportunity to serve.”
My BMS Moving & Storage will now be collecting food items from their customers and delivering donations directly to the local food bank in the area each my-BMS Moving & Storage-branch serves. The service is free to customers, and turns every move into an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate, simply by donating the cans and non-perishables on moving day. According to Move For Hunger, fifty million Americans struggle to find their next meal. Seventeen million children go to bed hungry every night and hunger is a year-round-issue.

Move For Hunger is a non-profit organization that works with relocation companies across North America to pick up unwanted, unopened food from those who are relocating and deliver it to local food banks. To date, Move For Hunger is working with nearly 600 movers in 47 states and has collected more than 2,750,000 pounds of food.
