Why not consider Sunnyside? This is an area that is not one of the most expensive in the city but not one of the cheapest either. The proximity to the city center is also a plus point, as those who work there will not want to spend hours commuting.

The nightlife is not great in Brooklyn Heights, but if this is a consideration you are not too far away from good neighborhoods that cater for your needs. Another advantage of Brooklyn Heights is that the area is well maintained, with clean and safe streets.
