There has been plenty of talk about NBA trades in recent weeks. The Brooklyn Nets have been fairly persistent in their desire to have Dwight Howard on their team. There may even be a four-way trade to make certain this happens.
The trade would involve the Cavaliers and Clippers, along with Magic. The Nets would obtain Howard, Richardson, Duhon and Clark in the deal. The Magic would receive Lopez, Walton, James, Shelden Williams and Johnson. The Cavaliers would trade for Humphries, Quentin Richardson and Gaines. The Clippers would only be gaining MarShon Brooks. The deal with the Cavaliers would provide $3 million in cash from the Nets.
The other issue with this deal is the players themselves. They would have to take the deals on the table. A team cannot trade any player without getting their consent on the new deals. There is some talk that some of the players may not want to move. Information regarding medical history has been traded on the players as part of the due diligence, so there is every possibility that the deals and the upcoming relocations will happen.
Humphries is one of the players who are still holding out. His agent is asking him to settle for a deal that lasts only a year. This same agent represents Howard, so it could be that Humphries is feeling that Howard is getting preferential treatment with this relocation talk. Other players are not too happy with their deals either.
